Fresh Start with Zelda!

Image
Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you my layout Fresh Start using the beautiful October Main Kit, Forever Fall from Simple Stories.   I started getting grey hairs in high school and have been continuously dyeing my hair ever since not only to cover up the grey but I also liked dyeing my hair in fun colours too. So the amount of time and product I have put into my hair I can only imagine lol. This picture is a recent selfie after coming home from the salon and finally deciding to give up dyeing my hair and to let my salt and pepper hair grow out naturally, which is why I chose the title Fresh Start.   When I went through all the beautiful papers and elements in this kit I decided to create a dream catcher incorporating the feathers and leaves. I used an embroidery hoop and a pencil to lightly trace a semi circle around the patterned paper and positioned the dream catcher off the page to the right. I trimmed my white cardstock to 11 ½” square and distressed the edg...

lets Get Cozy with Marielle!

Hello !My Creative Scrapbook friends, Marielle here today sharing a Fall layout I created with the gorgeous October main kit featuring the Forever Fall collection from Simple Stories. I have loved knitting since I was a teenager and this Summer I knitted a cozy blanket for my re designed den /man cave in our basement. Let's Get Cozy by Marielle LeBlanc Step 1 Using leftover yarn from my blanket, I knitted a 6"X 6 "square. You could also add a piece of felt or fabric as a textured layer :) Step 2 Adhere 3 to 4 layers of patterned papers from the kit. I used the dark "denim look" paper as my background. Step 3 For added texture I stitched on a row of buttons to the striped paper. I think these were from Basic Grey... I used to be totally addicted to buttons !!) Step 4 Adhere knitted sample over layers of patterned papers using your favorite adhesive. Step 5 Machine stitch knitted piece into place ,if desired. Step 6 Add matted photo,to the center of knitted piece ...

Fun with Squares by Yvette!

Image
Hi My Creative Scrapbook Friends! Yvette here, and I am super excited to share two of my projects I created using squares and the gorgeous October main kit. So are you ready to have some fun with squares!!!  Okay, let's get started :)  For my first page, I picked several square punches in different sizes and cut out multiple squares from a variety of patterned papers. I played around with the squares for a bit, until I found the design I love. I decided to arranged all of the squares down the left hand side and along the bottom of my page to create a large L. I attached them to the background using both glue and foam adhesive.     Next, I added my photos. For the title I used a combination of foam letter stickers found in this month's main kit and one of the chipboard stickers from the 'Forever Fall' collection. Just a few embellishments as well as some paint splatter were need to complete this layout.  Now for my second project..... For this page a 2x2 in...

Forever Fall with Monique!

Hello My Creative Scrapbook friends! It's Monique here sharing a step-by-step tutorial for this layout created with the fabulous October Main Kit . I adore the "Forever Fall" collection from Simple Stories Pam chose for this month's kit and had such a great time creating this page. Because I love the pie charts that are all the rage for quite a while now, I came up with the idea to use small pie charts on my page, instead of one large one. Let me show you how I made them. I started with a circle punch and a triangle punch and punched 8 circles and a whole lot of triangles: On top of every circle I put some liquid glue and adhered 8 triangles: Starting with two triangles opposite of each other I filled the cardstock circles:  Don't you agree they look like little pie charts? Because I first glued the triangles on a piece of cardstock, I was able to position the little "pie charts" in different ways before deciding on my final design: On top of every pie ...
