Scrapbook Room Feature with Tracy!

Image
Hello crafty friends, Tracy here with a little craft room fun. There is something to the Spring Cleaning saying, every year around this time I get the urge to clean, purge and organize my craft room. I thought I would share a few tips and tricks that I use to stay organized and efficient in my crafty area. This is a shot of most of my craft room, taken a while back while it was in a very clean state. Since the photo I have added a few things, but overall is functioning much the same way. First of all I thought I would share a little bit of the space that is right in front of my main work space. I like to have everything that I craft with on a regular basis within arms length for easy access. This is my basket of adhesives that I use all the time. The narrow little dollar store basket keeps everything tidy and out of the way. I have 4 sections of wooden shelving to the right of my main working space where I keep my ever evolving collection of inks, sprays and mediums. In the photo are j...

DIY Decor with Marielle!

Image
Hello, Marielle here today to share this cute DIY craft room decor created with the package of colorful Pebbles buttons in the March main kit . I am in the middle of basement renovations and I'm finally getting a real craft space !! I think this frame will be perfect for my room. Create DIY picture frame by Marielle Step 1- Line up those colorful buttons in 3 rows on a piece of  6"X8" white cardstock.. I adhered mine with glue dots. I love that all of the buttons are the same size. Step 2- Stitch butoons to cardstock with thread or floss. I used a light grey DMC floss. Step 3- Once the buttons are all stitched on cardstock, adhere alpha stickers "CREATE" to center of bottom row. Step 4- Frame your project. I used a frame from the dollar store. The frame is 8"X10"with a 5"X7"opening. I also made these DIY paper clips with the leftover buttons and standard paper clips. Just dab a bit of strong glue behind the buttons and add paper clip, let dry...

Digital Cutting Tips with Monique!

Image
Hi everyone! It's time for yet another quick tutorial and I'm so happy for the chance to share mine! For today's layout I decided to use the Silhouette PixScan Cutting Mat, which I bought about 2 years ago, but never used before! Here's the layout I created with the March Main Kit and the globe digital cutting file , which is one of the MCS March digital cutting files: Did you ever have the chance to play around with the PixScan cutting mat? I found it so easy to use! Wish I had know that before, I would have used it sooner! However, I found I had to upgrade to a later version of the Silhouette software than I had, so now I have 4.1, but I think V3 will do as well.  Here's how I did it:  1. As I wanted to cut out many of the butterflies from the Simple Stories "Choosing Happiness" paper and I'm not very good at hand cutting I decided to give the PixScan cutting mat a go. I adhered the paper on to the mat (it has to fit within the lines of your mat) an...

Walk through with Aimee!

Image
Hello friends! Aimee here with you today and I have a fun step by step tutorial for you! I love all of the beautiful flowery papers and spring inspired embellishments in this month's creative kit! It was the perfect kit to document my daughter and her friends getting together to do each other's make up and hair. I used the fabulous March Creative kit for this layout... The first thing I did for this layout is apply a few of the rub-ons onto a sheet of smooth white cardstock and cut them out. With them having a white background, I can place them anywhere on a layout or card. I wanted my layout to have a splash of color so I added some Gesso and aqua blue paint in a circular motion using a make up sponge to the white cardstock. I layered my picture with a couple of beautiful patterned papers... and used some pop dots on the back so it would raise my picture up and I could place some of the chipboard pieces behind it on my layout. Next, I placed my picture onto the layout, added ...

Fun Techiques with Lee-Anne

Image
Hello scrappy friends! It's Lee-Anne here on the blog and today I wanted to share a simple and fun technique on how to create paint splats on scrapbook layouts. I don't know about you, but sometimes I think it's fun to play with paints and other mediums to create something a little more artsy. Remember that in scrapbooking, there are no mistakes and my motto is to just have fun and enjoy the process. For my layout, I backed the Floral Globe cut file, which is cut with my electronic die cutting machine on one of the sheets of patterned paper from the March Creative Kit, with a piece of white cardstock of which I added my teal and coral paint splats.  I also wanted to mention that there are always several exclusive complimentary cut files included in the kits each month that can be cut with a Silhouette Cameo, Cricut, or Brother Scan N Cut electronic die cutting machines.  I will show you how I created the paint splats. Let's begin. Supplies For Paint Splats Craft Mat He...
